Snow tips for a break on the slopes

WHEN THE SNOW FALLS, THE FUN STARTS

A winter holiday in Tyrol has plenty to offer: Mother Hulde will bring you lots of skiing and snowboarding fun, and so much more besides. How would you like a stroll among snow-covered fir trees? Or a toboggan race with a stop at a mountain hut for a hearty snack? We can promise you, there’s no lack of variety!

Winter hiking

Isn’t it lovely to hike in the glistening snow! Among the tree branches weighed down by snowfall and the mountaintops covered in a blanket of snow. In Gerlos and the surrounding villages, countless paths lead out to the snow-covered countryside. Many of them are expertly prepared and so are also suitable for families.

Cross-country skiing

Gerlos is a force to be reckoned with, and not just for skiers. Cross-country skiers are sure to enjoy the perfectly prepared cross-country ski runs with guaranteed snow, which lead from the village out into the picturesque tributary valleys. You just have to try out the ski runs in the Schönach Valley or dare to take on the high-altitude trail at Hochkrimml. You’ll be amazed!

Tobogganing

You are never too young or too old to go tobogganing. Because this lively winter sport is so popular here, there are six toboggan runs in the Zillertal Arena. Each one in Gerlos is lit up, inviting you to have some great fun tobogganing under the stars. Some punch drink in the chalet will help to warm you back up!
